Press Release / April 28, 2015 - Kyrgyzstan starts issuing 5-year multiple entry visas to US citizens

The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the USA and Canada on April 28, 2015, held an official ceremony of issuing first five-year multiple entry visas to US citizens for travels to.

In April 2015 the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Stated reached an agreement to issue five-year multiple entry visas on reciprocity basis to Kyrgyz and US citizens traveling to the United States and Kyrgyzstan respectively.

Officials of the U.S. State Department, including Mr. Daniel Rosenblum, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, representatives from private sector and NGOs in Washington, D.C. attended the event.

Kyrgyz Republic’s Ambassador to the USA Kadyr Toktogulov in his welcoming remarks said that the agreement on five-year multiple entry visas is a strong sign of the Kyrgyz-American bilateral relations developing to a new level, and that it will promote further strengthening people-to-people connections between Kyrgyzstan and the US, enhancing opportunities for travels, investment and business ties between the two countries.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Mr. Daniel Rosenblum also emphasized that this ceremony symbolizes  the strong development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and the USA, and highlights the outcomes of both countries’ efforts, including the recent Annual Bilateral Consultations in DC.



First owners of the five-year multiple entry Kyrgyz visas became the family of Christopher and Sarah Kenyon and their daughter Emily, whom they adopted in Kyrgyzstan in 2008. The family intends to visit Kyrgyzstan on regularly to let Emily know more about the country, where she comes from.
Another owner of the five-year multiple entry visa became Stephanie Komsa, Deputy Manager of Gazelle Finance investment Fund, which was established to invest in small and medium businesses in Kyrgyzstan.
